Scholarship
The congregation offers two $1,000 scholarships.
Scholarship for up to $1,000 for an entering freshman at
a United Methodist-related college or university or a first-year
student at a United Methodist-related seminary or theological
school. The deadline for applications is April 1 for the
coming term.
Scholarship for up to $1,000 for a student who is or will
be enrolled full-time in any year of an undergraduate degree
program at any college or university. The application deadline
is April 1 for the coming term.
FUMC
Grants
Grant
(s) for up to $1,000 for a non-traditional student, who
has completed high school or GED, and who plans to further
their education by attending a trade, vocational, undergraduate
or graduate school. Nontraditional is defined as an individual
who has had at least 24 consecutive months as a non student
at sometime in their adult life. This scholarship is for
expenses already incurred. December 1 is the application
deadline for expenses incurred in that same calendar year.
Paul
Rand / UMM Scholarship
The United Methodist Men's Club scholarship is for a male
student who is a graduating high school senior or who has
successfully completed at least his first year of course
work and is continuing as an undergraduate or graduate student.
Preference will be given to the applicant who has demonstrated
active participation in church activities locally and on
campus. The applicant or parents must be member (s) of First
United Methodist Church of Blue Springs.
The
Independents Singles
The Independents will offer four scholarships for applicants
furthering their education.
For a child from a single-parent family. The child must
be under the age of 24 years. The parent must be a participant
of the Independents or of FUMC Blue Springs.
The
Wayne Beagle Memorial Scholarship--$250
The
Patricia Robinson, Founder of the Independents, Scholarship--$500
The Independents Scholarship--$500
For a single adult over the age of 24 years. The adult
must be a participant of the Independents.
Independents Scholarship--$500

United
Methodist "Dollars for Scholars"
The United Methodist Higher Education Foundation (UMHEF)
offers 325 scholarships to applicants attending a United
Methodist college, University or seminary. The sponsoring
church remits a check for $1,000 to UMHEF along with the
completed application form. If selected, UMHEF will transfer
$2,000 to the recipient’s school.

Undergraduate Scholarships
Two undergraduate scholarships are offered through the Missouri
United Methodist Foundation (MUMF). The application process
is outlined at the website, www.mumf.org.
