New to First Church?
Welcome!
Visiting a church for the first time can be a little intimidating. People tend to worry about what to wear and what to say. Here's the deal: You can totally relax at First Church. We want to meet you wherever you are—spiritually and emotionally. We don't pressure or judge; we invite and encourage.
About the Dress Code
Yeah, we really don't care what you wear. Wear jeans. Wear shorts. Wear jean shorts. You can even wear a tie if you feel like it. Just please leave the swimwear at home.
About Our People
We call them our "church family." We are just regular people like you. None of us is perfect. We mess up--sometimes big--regardless of our best intentions. We don't have all the answers, and we're way open to questions. And not to brag, but we've been told we're pretty nice, too.
About Our Services
Typically, our services last just under an hour. We have praise and worship, a meaningful message and extras like music and movie clips. Each of our four services is different so try them all out to see what fits your needs and style.
5:30 p.m. Saturday Night: Come as you are and take a mid-weekend break to connect with God and your friends. This service features a laid-back atmosphere, with hymns both old and new.
8:00 a.m. Sunday: Similar to our Saturday night service, this early-morning service also includes weekly communion.
9:15 a.m. Sunday: Contemporary music led by our worship band will help you connect with God in a new way.
10:45 a.m. Sunday: Our most traditional service features our outstanding choir (during the school year) and organ. You'll connect with your faith through spoken creeds and familiar hymns.
About Our Kids
We love kids! Parents don't even have to bribe them to come. They like it. They're not only playing and having fun, but they're also learning about God in the process.
About Our Teenagers
Yes, we like them, too. No, really! We think our youth are pretty incredible.
