Mission work has become one of the cornerstones of our church - it is present nearly year-round and available to nearly all ages and stages within our congregation. In June, First United Methodist was presented with an "All-Star Mission Award" at the Missouri Annual Conference. Our participation in missions earned the Galaxy award.

Each year, our youngest mission teams do work in the Kansas City metro area, first learning the fulfillment that comes from helping others in need close to home. As they get older, our teams venture out into other parts of Missouri, where they begin to gain a bigger picture of how our community and our congregation are connected to the larger world. Older youth have opportunities to visit other states; and adults work wherever they're needed - even in Costa Rica and Mozambique.
